Setup — About 5 Minutes

Step 1: Free Apify account

1. Go to apify.com and sign up.
2. Free plan includes $5/month prepaid platform usage; no credit card needed (Apify Pricing).
3. Stop there—OAuth finishes auth when you connect Claude.

Step 2: Add Apify to Claude Connectors

Option A — Browse connectors

1. Open claude.ai or Claude Desktop → Settings → Connectors (or Customize → Connectors).
2. Click Browse connectors, search Apify, install, and authorize.

Option B — Custom connector URL (OAuth)

1. Same Connectors screen → Add custom connector.

3. Save. On first use, the browser opens—sign in to Apify and authorize (Apify Claude Desktop docs).

Step 3: Enable Apify in a new chat

1. Start a new conversation.
2. Click + in the chat input → Connectors.
3. Toggle Apify on for that chat.

4) SCRAPE VIA APIFY
After I answer, run a LinkedIn Jobs Scraper Actor on Apify.
Prefer (try in order; search Apify Store if needed):

Use my job title as keywords and my city/location as location. Respect remote preference if given. Set max results to my number (default 20). Do not run huge scrapes.

5) OUTPUT — MARKDOWN TABLE
For each job, compare requirements to my resume and produce ONE markdown table with columns:

Rules:
- Fit score = how well my resume matches the posting (skills, title, seniority, tools).
- Salary: use the posting value; if missing, write "n/a" (common on LinkedIn).
- Posted: posting date if available, else "n/a".
- Apply link: direct job URL when the Actor returns it.
- Resume changes: 1 short phrase (e.g. "Add Kotlin + mention GraphQL APIs").
- Sort rows by Fit score descending.
- Deduplicate obvious duplicate postings.

6) TOP 5 DETAIL
After the table, expand the top 5 fits with 3–5 bullet resume edit suggestions each (what to add, rephrase, or move up).

7) EXPORT
If you can create a file, also offer Excel or CSV of the same table. Otherwise give a CSV-ready code block I can copy.

8) CREDITS
Keep the run small. Remind me that Apify free plan is about $5/month prepaid usage and that capping ~20 jobs helps stay free.

Tip: start with 15 jobs and one city. Widen keywords only after the first table looks useful.

How Far Do Free Credits Go?

Apify's free plan includes $5/month prepaid usage and does not require a credit card (Apify Pricing). LinkedIn Jobs Actors bill per run/results—so 15–20 jobs per session is the safe default. Unused free credits do not roll over; start small, then repeat with a new city or title if you still have balance.

Salary fields are often empty on LinkedIn. Your table should show n/a, not guess.

Troubleshooting

Apify tools not showing

• Toggle Apify on in the chat (+ → Connectors). Remove/re-add the connector and re-authorize OAuth. See Claude Desktop integration.

Unauthorized / run fails

• Re-add custom connector https://mcp.apify.com and sign in again.

Actor not found or empty table

• Ask Claude to search Apify Store for "LinkedIn jobs scraper", then retry with max 15. Broaden keywords slightly; keep the location exact.
