One-Page Website with Claude for Local Businesses

A one-page website with Claude is a single index.html file made from a public Google Maps listing. Search a neighborhood and a category, open a business with no website, copy only what the listing shows, and paste it into Claude. Open the file in a browser, then send a short note: the page came from their public listing, and if they like it, it's theirs.

This is the claude.ai chat. No API, no terminal, no project to install.

What you leave with: one phone-friendly page for one business, and a note you can send with it.

Key Takeaways

  • On Google Maps, search neighborhood + category (cafes, barbers, mechanics). No website on the listing means that is the business to build for.
  • Copy public fields only: name, address, hours, phone if listed, category, photo subjects, and two review themes in your own words. Do not paste long quotes.
  • The prompt returns one HTML file. It must skip anything you mark MISSING and must not invent a phone, hours, reviews, stars, or prices.
  • Show the finished page. The offer is: if they like it, it's theirs.
  • Public listing only. Do not write to every shop in one afternoon. If they say no, stop.

What you need

A browser, a Claude chat, and Google Maps. Do one listing. Have the page open on your phone before you contact the owner.

Google lists Website as a Business Profile field: a full http:// or https:// URL customers can open from the profile (Edit your Business Profile). On the Maps card, look for a Website button, a globe, or a URL in the details. If none is there, the listing points nowhere. Build for that business. If a site is already listed, pick another.

Find the business on Google Maps

  1. Open Google Maps.
  2. Search neighborhood + category, somewhere you could visit or call: Kadıköy berber, Oakland mechanic, Le Marais bakery.
  3. Open the listing and look for a website.
  4. Site already there: skip. No site: stay on this card and finish the page before you open another.

Many shops already run on Maps and walk-ins. The page only restates what they published.

Copy only what the listing shows

If a line is not on the card, write MISSING. Do not fill it from memory or from another site.

  • Name, as printed.
  • City or neighborhood, and the category Maps uses.
  • Address. Hours only if listed. Phone only if listed. Do not search elsewhere for a number so the page looks finished.
  • Three services you can point to in the category, the name, or the photos. A photo of haircuts can support "haircuts". It cannot support a service you added because it sounds good.
  • Photo subjects (storefront, interior, product, someone at work). Claude does not get the image files. The page gets a labeled box. You add the business's own public photo later, or you delete the box.
  • Two review themes, paraphrased. "Regulars mention short waits and a clean shop" is enough. Do not copy a review paragraph, a star rating, or a review count.

Fill these blanks before you paste

Edit the MY LISTING lines at the bottom of the prompt. Replace each FILL. Unknown → MISSING.

  • Business name, city / neighborhood, category, address, hours, phone
  • Service 1, service 2, service 3
  • Review theme 1, review theme 2
  • Photo subjects
  • Language of the site (the language the owner uses with customers)

Do not send the prompt while it still says FILL. Those lines are dropped on purpose, and the page comes out empty.

Prompt for a one-page website with Claude

New chat on claude.ai. Paste the whole block once the blanks are filled.

You are writing a single-file website for one real local business. Use only the public listing facts at the bottom.

OUTPUT
- Return one HTML document and nothing else.
- Start with <!DOCTYPE html> and end with </html>.
- It must work as index.html opened in a browser, including offline.
- All CSS goes in one <style> block in the head. No web fonts, icons, analytics, images, or scripts. No JavaScript.

LAYOUT
- Mobile first, readable at 360px: one column, comfortable type, stacked sections, a tap-friendly phone link when a phone exists.
- The business name is the only h1. Use header, main, section, and footer. Put a provided address in <address>.
- System font stack, high contrast, one accent color, simple top band with the name. No stock photo and no hero image.

FACTS
- Never invent a phone, hours, address, service, review, star rating, review count, price, award, year founded, or any slogan that adds a fact I did not give.
- If a value is blank, FILL, or MISSING, omit that section. Never print FILL or MISSING.
- No filler: "call us", "open daily", "highly rated", "affordable", "best in town", "family owned" — unless that exact fact is in my notes.
- Services: only the ones I listed that are not MISSING. Do not add another.
- Mention the city or neighborhood once, as a place, only if I provided it. Do not claim the business is popular.
- Reviews: if at least one theme exists, write at most two sentences. English form: "Customers mention …". Translate that into the site language. No quotes, names, stars, or counts. If both themes are MISSING, omit the section.
- Photos: no <img>, no hotlinks. For each photo subject, add a visible box whose text means: Photo area: {subject} — replace with the business's own public photo or delete this box. Translate the label. If photo subjects are MISSING, add no boxes.
- No lorem ipsum. No fake form.

SECTIONS, IN ORDER, ONLY WHEN THE DATA EXISTS
1. Name, plus one sentence on what they do, from the category and my services only.
2. Services.
3. Hours.
4. Review-theme note.
5. Photo boxes.
6. Visit block with address and phone if I supplied them. Phone is a tel: link with my digits. Do not change the country code.

Write every visible string in the language below. Keep the name, phone, and address as typed.

MY LISTING
Business name: FILL
City / neighborhood: FILL
Category: FILL
Address: FILL
Hours: FILL
Phone: FILL
Service 1: FILL
Service 2: FILL
Service 3: FILL
Review theme 1: FILL
Review theme 2: FILL
Photo subjects: FILL
Language of the site: FILL

Save the document as index.html. If it arrived inside a code fence, copy from <!DOCTYPE html> through </html>.

Read the file before you show it

Open it at about phone width. Check facts, not taste.

  • Name, hours, phone, and address match what you typed, and missing ones are absent.
  • Services are your three lines, not a longer list.
  • No quotation marks, stars, review counts, or prices.
  • Photo areas are labels. Add an image only if it is the business's own public photo; otherwise delete the box.

The page may say the name, category, your services, hours, address, phone, a two-sentence theme note, and those labels. Delete any sentence that states something you did not provide. Do not "fix" a gap by guessing.

The note to send the owner

A few lines. Polite, no fee, no guilt, no fake deadline. Send the link, or show the file on your phone if you are there.

Hello,

I looked at your Google Maps listing for [Business name].
I put together a one-page site from the public info on that listing.
If you like it, it's yours.
It uses the name, what you do, and the hours and address that were already listed.
If you don't want it, no problem — I won't follow up.
[Your name]

Drop the hours line if the listing had no hours. You are handing over a page they can open, not describing a site that does not exist yet.

Open it locally, then share it simply

Double-click index.html to preview it. To show the owner, any simple static host is enough so they get a link that opens on their phone. Do not turn this into a hosting guide, and do not promise the page will rank. Their profile, their domain, and their own description of the business sit outside this file.

Use public info, then stop

Use the listing they already published. Do not add facts from anywhere else, and do not paste long reviews as testimonials. Do not spam every shop on the street in one afternoon. One page, one note. If they say no, stop.

Later, if you want listings in a sheet

Maps and this prompt are the whole method. A table of many public listings is optional and separate: Claude + Apify: scrape business leads. You do not need it to finish the page above.

Questions

Do I need to know how to code?

No. Paste the prompt into claude.ai, save the reply as index.html, and open it. If a label is wrong, edit it or run the prompt again with that blank fixed.

What if the phone or hours are missing?

Set that line to MISSING. The section should disappear. An address with no phone is fine. A guessed number is not. No review themes means no review block.

Can I paste the Google reviews?

No. Paraphrase two themes. The prompt turns them into sentences without quotes, stars, or a count. The reviewer wrote that text on Maps, not for this page.
